How do the awards work
The MidCoast Business Awards are supported by the MidCoast Business Chamber, and cover the following Business Chambers:
Taree, Forster Tuncurry, Wingham, Harrington, Gloucester, Old Bar, Myall Lakes and Bulahdelah.
They provide the opportunity to recognise and reward amazing businesses whose passion, determination and innovation inspire other local businesses and local business people.
Applicants must enter their chosen category(s) online via this website.
Each question must be answered, and during this process, will provide the business with analytics about their operations.
The process offers an excellent opportunity for a business to evaluate their journey so far, and just as importantly, for the future direction of the business.
Once the applicant has completed and submitted their entry, it is then assessed by a panel of judges, who assign weighted points against each answer to determine the final outcome.
Successful applicants are then notified via email if they are selected as Finalists. The Winners and Highly Commended awards are announced and presented on the night of the Gala Dinner, to be held at Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club on Saturday 17th August, 2019.
The awards application process for 2019 has been up-dated and can only be submitted using the online portal on the MidCoast Business Awards website. Applicants will be required to login using their email and to create a password.
1. Application forms are linked by means of category and once completed are submitted directly from the website.
2. Applicants will receive an automated reply confirming the receipt of their application
3. Applications are then submitted via the portal to an independent judging panel consisting of business leaders from outside the MidCoast region.
4. Finalists will be notified via email.
5. Winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner.

A panel of judges will asses all submissions and score each question in line with the judging criteria. All submissions will be judged independently by at least 3 judges, the scores were then collated and the outcomes used to decide the finalists, highly commended, and winners of each category. This judging panel is made up of ‘out of area’ business leaders – none of whom enter the awards and have any association or affiliation with local businesses.
Those on the awards committee are not permitted to enter to avoid any conflict of interest.
The judges’ decisions are final and no further discussion will be entered into.
Peoples’ Choice Award
The People’s Choice Award provides an opportunity for businesses to encourage their clientele to vote for their business in the 2019 Business Awards.
It differs from other categories in these awards, in that it enables customers to submit valuable feedback on their business and staff.
This feedback is assessed by the awards committee, and the successful business will receive a certificate and trophy to display within their business.
This is a perfect opportunity for a business to show thanks for their customers’ support and loyalty.
It’s time to have your say and vote for your favourite business. Simply complete the form below to make your nomination.
One vote per person. Voting closes at 5pm on the 21st June 2019.
