How the Awards Work

The MidCoast Business Awards are supported by the MidCoast Business Chamber, and cover the following Business Chambers:

Taree, Forster Tuncurry, Wingham, Harrington, Gloucester, Old Bar, Myall Lakes and Bulahdelah.

They provide the opportunity to recognise and reward amazing businesses whose passion, determination and innovation inspire other local businesses and local business people.

Applicants must enter their chosen category(s) online via this website.

Each question must be answered, and during this process, will provide the business with analytics about their operations.

The process offers an excellent opportunity for a business to evaluate their journey so far, and just as importantly, for the future direction of the business.

Once the applicant has completed and submitted their entry, it is then assessed by a panel of judges, who assign weighted points against each answer to determine the final outcome.

Successful applicants are then notified via email if they are selected as Finalists. The Winners and Highly Commended awards are announced and presented on the night of the Gala Dinner, to be held at Club Forster on Saturday 12th February 2022.

Judging

A panel of judges will assess all submissions and score each question in line with the judging criteria. All submissions will be judged independently by at least 3 judges, the scores will then be collated and the outcomes used to decide the finalists, highly commended, and winners of each category. This judging panel is made up of ‘out of area’ business leaders – none of whom enter the awards and have any association or affiliation with local businesses.

Those on the awards committee are not permitted to enter to avoid any conflict of interest.

The judges’ decisions are final and no further discussion will be entered into.
